Programme: MSc Conservation for Archaeology and Museums
Duration: 2021 - 2023

Project Synopsis:
The laboratory environment at UCL introduced a structured methodology for thorough object assessment and treatment. A series of objects were selected for individual treatments spanning a broad range of material composition and complexity. This diverse array of objects, including archaeological ceramics, decorative furniture, and functional artefacts, expanded my initial understanding of the scope that object conservation entails.

Considerable emphasis was placed on acknowledging the heritage value of objects and its influence on the course of their conservation treatments. Categorising the values of an object into associative, evidentiary, sensory, and functional classifications allowed for a more detailed perspective of potential treatment.
