Object Description:
Pair of "swivel-walkers" designed for a child, born with limb difference designed at the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital formerly called the Ontario Crippled Children's Centre in Canada, made in the United Kingdom by Hanger with modifications of a chest piece made by Dr Ian Fletcher, 1966
Condition:
Object is in fair condition. Edges of plastic torso are delaminating and require consolidation. Leather is in good condition. Pulley of proper right arm is misaligned and needs to be re-strung to support the arm suspension. Interior of padding was determined to be non-hazardous and is organic cotton batting.
Treatment Performed:
Delaminating surfaces were consolidated using Klucel G 0.25% (w/v in IMS) using cotton swabs. Arm pulls was re-strung and aligned to its original position. All plastic surfaces were lightly cleaned with deionised water to remove any visible residues.
